☝️ Our Ethos

At Dots, we believe in the independent, small web.

That means we are just two individuals, self-funding the creation of a tool we think will be valuable to our everyday lives. We also do it because it’s fun and because it allows us to be creative outside of our day jobs.

We won’t track you or spam you, and we aren’t trying to stuff a product full of AI to attract VC money that will be all but wasted and forgotten about in a couple years time. We’re building a tool to last forever. Any money earned from the app (if any) will go first and foremost towards its maintenance and continued existence.

We want to be as transparent as possible. This means developing in the open, giving early access to features, allowing folks to help shape the roadmap. It also means being open about the financials, the infrastructure, the tech stack, any third-party services we eventually may use, and anything else that might be relevant to share.

All the data you input into the app is yours, first and foremost. We believe robust export tools are fundamental to any app or service. We will never do anything to lock you into our product.

We want to make software that is delightful. We want everyone to be able to use it regardless of income or disabilities.

We believe time is precious and how you spend it should be of the utmost importance.
